I was the District Traslator for PISD from 8/2005 to 5/2006. I translated various documents for teachers, parents and students throughout the year. Some of my work included traslating newsletters, letters for parents, student handbooks, Enrollment sheets, forms for free and reduced meals, student worksheets, student exams, referals, parents notes from spanish to english, and any other text document that needed translation. In realtime I traslated ARD/PARD meetings which consist of verbal traslations that were recorded and kept onfile for parental review. I also translated parent teacher confrences on a daily basis and made phone calls to parents. I was asked to traslate for open house and various other school events on different campuses. I accquired my General Equivalancy Diploma in 2/23/05 and I am continuing my education with computer courses and classes toward being a certified traslator. I am familiar with Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Xcell, and Wordperfect. I am fluent in both spanish and english and can traslate both from spanish to english and vise versa.
