| Description | Our Company is one of the leading providers of globalization solutions and staffing. We are a nationwide company comprised of 42 offices in the US, Canada and Europe. Our client company in Seattle, WA is looking for a Japanese to English Editor/Proofreader who is skilled in technical writing in English and software functional and linguistic testing and documentation QA. This is a contract opportunity at the client site. The duration of the contract will be 6 months +. Roles and activities: Publishes technical documentation primarily to support client licensees and developers; establishes and maintains accuracy and quality of technical documentation localized from Japanese to English and English to Japanese released by our client; researches and formulates technical information for publication; drafts and edits documentation; establishes and maintains published material quality standards; coordinates translation activities. Functionally & linguistically test internally developed software tools based on the users' guides. The tools and users' guides are already reversed localized from Japanese to English. Find software and documentation bugs based on the Japanese and English users' guide. Edit the English users' guides based on the Japanese user guide if there are any discrepancies between the two users' guides. Requires 3 + years of experience in technical translation/ editing/ proofreading from Japanese to English. Good understanding of hardware and software application. Ability to install Windows based software tools. Experience in software and documentation QA. Good understanding of programming concept. Experience with various publishing and authoring tools. A high level of diplomacy is highly required. Work experience in Japan will be a tremendous plus. To apply, please send resumes as a Microsoft word attachment.
