We currently have a project which we need completed by the end of the week (8/4/06). We have several files (all digital files) which need to be translated. We need a few translators who have digital transcription equipment who can handle this job. Simultaneous interpreter (EN-PT): Lisbon, 22 May We are looking for an experienced simultaneous interpreter for a corporate training session which will take place in a hotel near Lisbon on 22 May between 10:30-13:00. Our client is a multinational company and the subject is "Global Business Practices". The training session will be led by a representative from the United States and the interpreter\'s job will be to translate the speaker\'s contribution into Portuguese (via booth and audio equipment). There may also be some inverse translation so the candidate must feel confident moving between the two languages. The session will be attended by around 25 employees. In addition to the interpretation work, supporting documentation will be provided prior to the session to be translated from English to Portuguese (Powerpoint). This will help familiarise the candidate with the subject matter prior to the training session. The translation is around 2,800 words and will be paid at 0.06€/word We are looking for someone with proven experience both as a simultaneous interpreter and translator whose native language is Portuguese. I am looking for a contract translator for a six month position. I need someone who is native in Spanish, fluent in American English and lives in the United States. I also want someone who is certified either in court, hospital, ATA, etc.. The work will be translation of forms and advertising collateral for a tax preparation company. The rate is four hundred dollars a week to be direct deposited into your bank each friday. The work load will vary and you can work at your own pace but it should never be more than twenty hours per week. However the rate is flat so if you finish in less time, you are still paid the same. I will be working with this company to provide marketing advice and you will be working with me to ensure that the marketing messages I create are accurately translated with cultural relevance. Much of this material will be in a national campaign so accuracy is critical. The translator would translate written English scripts for programs into written Persian. Fluency in both English and Persian is an absolute must. Previous translation experience is desired, but not required. The channel’s mission is to elevate the earth’s spiritual level through positive television programming. Typical scripts to be translated include news stories, lectures about spiritual topics, and educational programming. The scripts are fairly simple and are not filled with difficult medical, legal or technical terminology. The normal script is 8 pages long, which averages about 12,000 symbols (characters). There is enough work for one script to be translated every day of a 7-day week. The translator is needed to work as many days of the week as possible, but there is flexibility. As opposed to many other organizations looking to engage a translator for a short period, this is a long-term assignment with steady work every day.
