Hello Translator(s) RE: "Josyp Terelya". Look him up on the internet for more info. He is a visionary in exile from his native Ukraine, who survived 23 years of torture in prison based on his religious beliefs. He has reserved the last week of June to give conferences in Ottawa to whoever wants to receive him. I'm inviting him to a French community in Ottawa, but we don't have translators from Uknrainian to French. Bishop Danylak will be translating into English for English group(s). I'm also trying to have him speak in as many communities as possible in the area, Chinese, Japonese. Italian, Ukrainian, etc. His message is urgent to all people. He needs translators willing to VOLONTEER their talent for the Lord and be free to travel with him as needed or find a replacement for whatever language is needed. The translation is usually spontanious and brings special blessings for the translator(s) [ as some have experienced already.] The translator(s) need not be professional as long as he/she has control of the languases spoken at the conference(s) Please let me know ASAP if you/anyone can help me. also if you or someone you know would like to hear him. English (American) to Chinese - Simplified
Job Purpose: ▪ Provide translations for owner’s manuals, advertisements and web sites from English into Simplified Chinese. Responsibilities: ▪ Hands-on translation of product descriptions, owner’s manuals, advertisements and web site from English into Simplified Chinese. ▪ Work with in-house Creative and Technical writers to research and verify that copy is up-to-date. ▪ Work with in-house Graphic Designers and Illustrators to assure correct graphics are represented. • Work with cross functional groups to ensure the translation process runs smoothly and on schedule. • Maintain final quality control: proofreading, content, structure, etc. • Provide quick-turnaround translations. • Identify tools and process enhancements; recommend to Department Manager. COMPETENCY PROFILE Qualifications: • Undergraduate Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation and/or equivalent experience. • Experience in the Pro Audio and/or Musical Instrument Industry. • Experience in the Pro Audio and/or Musical Instrument Industry valuable. Experience • Fluency in Chinese. Fluent in English. • 2 to 4 years creative writing experience for a Chinese audience. Special Skills, abilities and knowledge required ▪ Knowledgeable in, and sensitive to, multilingual and multicultural issues. ▪ Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication skills. ▪ Experience in managing language specific style guides, language glossaries and translation memory software. ▪ Experience with computer aided translation tools and systems preferred. ▪ Experience with Microsoft Windows (particularly with Windows translation tools and international technologies) • Acute attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to produce high-quality results under tight deadlines. • Ability to maintain a heavy workload on an ongoing basis.
