The following are examples of job postings looking for chinese names translations:

English (American) to Chinese - Simplified
I need Western name translations into Chinese. For each \'English\' name I need three Chinese translations, each with only two characters. The basis of the translation should be that instead of only using transliteration using sounds, each translation should be based on a positive Chinese meaning combined with some element of transliteration. Eg for \'Maria\' you could transliterate to \'ma yi ya\', but you will need to choose only two characters from \'ma yi ya\' to make a positive Chinese meaning, and create a name that compromises transliteraion methods with more authentic Chinese naming methods. For each name I need three Chinese names given in simplified and traditional kanji, pinyin, meanings and an audio file with pronunciation (preferably with clear female Beijing accent). I need 500 names translating at first with the possibility of a further 1000 at a late date. If you wish to quote for this work please give a sample of work based on the following four western names: Maria Joanne Richard Alexander Please submit using a Microsoft word table or an Excel Spreadsheet. You do not need to provide audio files. The eventual input method will be to a web based database. If you feel that specialist tools are required to input the data please feel free to email me with your own guidance and suggestions. I would need a completion date of 10th January 2008 for the first 500 names. Many thanks for your time.
